Toxic relationships among campus students
You only live once ,live in the moment ,enjoy the moment ,no one knows what tomorrow holds’ blah blah blah. Those ain't my words but of the majority of campus students ‘comrades’.
They have this inbuilt mentality that ‘campus life’ must be enjoyed to the fullest ,that its okay to make mistakes at this stage because after all we are not here to stay . Their all time slogan being ‘we are here for a good time not a long time’.Well some live to regret these decisions while some somehow ‘enjoy’ the decision.
Truth be said ,this comrade mentality and lifestyle is more toxic than a cobra’s poison .Its okay to enjoy life ,we are not here to suffer actually we already went through hell in the primary and secondary years and we do deserve a break. But the questions are ,’at what cost?’ what are the consequences? are our parents and forefathers morals instilled in us ,the cost to these ‘enjoyment’? Would your parent be proud of those moments? We all know the answers but our arrogance and insensitivity still leads us to the forbidden path.
The society calls it ‘peer pressure’ but that’s just sugarcoating .Sugar is way too expensive so I can’t afford to sugarcoat ,I’ll say it the way it is, that’s just STUPIDITY .’why would you say that writer?’ ahem , the campus ‘high standard’ wannabes who want a lifestyle far beyond their reach ,these comrades prolly have a circle of friends who come from well off families. Why compete when the odds are totally against you .’fake it till you make it’ they claim but for how long will you fake it before suicide thoughts storm your ‘little mind’
Imprisoned in their ‘imaginations’ they lose sight of the real world, a life outside the institution, a life where you have your poor family from the village counting on you to change their status in the society. Hey ‘big man bazuu’ or ‘mali safi’ or whatever fancy nickname you gave yourself ,theres more to life than living in the moment ,live within your limits ,be responsible there’s no one out there to mummy or daddy you .And when I say mummy/daddy I don’t mean mubaba and mumama๐.

ReplyDeleteWow...good job Beckyma... we're living in a society of lies so once we change the narrative by calling things by their real names not the 'binomial nomenclature' kind of a system,,,then we're going to open not only our own eyes but also those of the generations to come.
